XCMG XE215EV Electric Excavators Delivered in Bulk to New Energy Enterprise
Recently, XCMG delivered a batch of XE215EV fully electric hydraulic excavators to a major domestic new energy materials production base. This marks a significant step in XCMG's deep penetration of the new energy equipment market in lithium mining core regions.
The large-scale delivery not only highlights the customer's high recognition of green construction solutions but also sets a benchmark for carbon reduction and efficiency improvement in the new energy industry chain.
The receiving company, located in Yichun, Jiangxi – known as the "Lithium Capital of the World" – is a lithium carbonate production subsidiary of a global leader in new energy batteries. The company has an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons of lithium carbonate. The electric excavators were purchased primarily for the processing of lithium slag waste in the roasting production line.
"Previously, we relied on traditional fuel-powered equipment for loading. Based on national energy-saving and environmental protection regulations, as well as the nature of the new energy industry, we decided to upgrade all equipment to fully electric excavators," said the project manager. "The energy-saving and environmentally friendly features of XCMG's electric excavators align perfectly with our green factory concept, especially in raw material processing, where they significantly reduce carbon emissions and improve the working environment."
In terms of performance, the XE215EV demonstrates XCMG's deep technical expertise in electrification. To meet the client's high-intensity operational needs of 12 million tons per year, XCMG customized a 528kWh liquid-cooled lithium iron phosphate battery system. Fully charged, the excavators can operate continuously for nearly 8 hours. The system supports 500A dual-gun fast charging, with a refueling time of no more than 1.6 hours. This tailored design perfectly matches the client’s dual requirements for production efficiency and environmental performance.
The excavators are equipped with a 10-inch HD LCD display and an integrated control panel, making operation easy and convenient. The reinforced working device and rotation platform significantly increase the structural load-bearing capacity.
The high-dust lithium slag processing environment has long been plagued by exhaust emissions and noise from traditional fuel-powered equipment. The XE215EV achieves zero exhaust emissions and reduces operational noise to 67 decibels, not only minimizing pollution but also creating a healthier and more comfortable working environment for operators.
This delivery sets a model for the zero-carbon closed-loop implementation in China’s new energy industry chain and will accelerate the widespread adoption of fully electric construction equipment in China.
